When running OpenArena on the Radeon Gallium3D stack the performance was close for all desktop environments except for Unity 2D 5.8.0 and KDE 4.8.2, with both falling noticeably behind.
The OpenArena power consumption on battery between the seven tested desktop environments was all within two Watts of each other.
