Windows 11 vs. Ubuntu Linux Performance For Intel Core Ultra X7 Panther Lake

With the demanding FurMark benchmarks was another case of Windows coming out ahead for most of the OpenGL and Vulkan runs.

With the GpuTest graphics benchmarks using OpenGL and as simpler benchmarks, the Iris Gallium3D driver was working out well for the Arc B390 graphics on Panther Lake and faster than Windows 11 OpenGL by wide margins in a few of the tests.

For Vulkan compute benchmarks, Windows 11 showed big advantages again over the Linux 6.19 + Mesa 26.1-devel state of Panther Lake on Linux. With OpenGL graphics there was the potential of quite close performance between the competing platforms but more pronounced leads for Windows on the Vulkan side. It will be interesting to re-visit this a few months later to see how the open-source Intel driver optimizations have evolved.
