Now we are onto the power results for the dual AMD Opteron quad-core system with FirePro V8700 workstation graphics.
For this AMD workstation system, the power consumption when booting and then idling under each desktop was close to the same.
During light desktop usage, the eight-core workstation / server had also burned through approximately the same amount of power under these latest Microsoft and Canonical operating systems.
