ZimaBoard 2: An Interesting Intel-Powered Linux Home Mini Server
👁 ZimaBoard 2 with PCIe NVMe U.2 SSD
This was my first time using ZimaOS and was easy to use. ZimaOS boots to a console with the focus being on use from a web browser on your LAN.
From the web based interface to ZimaOS one can manage their storage devices, upload/download files, and leverage various apps.
The ZimaOS web interface also allows managing backups, monitoring system vitals, enabling SSH / Samba / other services, and other functionality typical of SOHO web interfaces for managing the server / storage device. The functionality was right on par with other distributions / web interfaces from Cockpit to TrueNAS.
With this being an Intel N150 system and booting via UEFI, you can easily load your own operating system of choice too if so desired. I had no issues booting Ubuntu Linux, for example, on the ZimaBoard 2.
