Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has commented on the incident involving unidentified drones near the flight path of his plane on the night of his arrival in Ireland.

Quote: "Regarding my visit to Ireland and the drones. Ireland has indeed confirmed this drone story. There will be an investigation, there really were drones.
Regarding [German Chancellor Friedrich] Merz's statement [that Zelenskyy should be cautious – ed.], we are being as cautious as possible, but I think our security sector should be thinking about this and dealing with it. There is nothing more to add; we have already become accustomed to living under such circumstances."
Background:
- Media outlets reported earlier that four unidentified drones were flying towards the flight path of Zelenskyy's aircraft as it landed at Dublin Airport.
- The same drones also reportedly spied on the Irish naval vessel LÉ William Butler Yeats, which had been secretly deployed off Dublin.
- On Friday 5 December, Taoiseach (Irish Prime Minister) Micheál Martin said that he had been briefed on the incident.
