A 63-year-old woman from Kherson has died in hospital after sustaining serious injuries in a Russian drone strike on a car in the city's Dniprovskyi district on 1 April. Two other civilians – an 84-year-old woman and a 63-year-old man – have been injured in subsequent Russian drone attacks on the city.

Update: The administration later reported that Russian forces had launched further drone attacks on Kherson's Dniprovskyi district.

At about 12:20, the Russians dropped explosives on an 84-year-old woman who was outside. She was diagnosed with shrapnel wounds to her chest, concussion, blast injuries and a closed traumatic brain injury. She was taken to hospital in a moderate condition.

About half an hour later, at around 12:50, Russian troops struck the district again. A 63-year-old man who was outside came under attack. He sustained shrapnel wounds to his leg, concussion, blast injuries and a closed traumatic brain injury. He was taken to hospital in a moderate condition.

Later, it was reported that Russian forces attacked two civilian vehicles with drones in one of Kherson's districts. A man was injured.

Oleksandr Prokudin, Head of Kherson Oblast Military Administration, said the strike targeted the city's Tsentralnyi district.

The fire was extinguished by emergency crews operating under the threat of repeat attacks.
