Michael Irving is a science journalist and copy editor with ScienceAlert. His childhood obsession with dinosaurs came roaring back in adulthood, joined by fascinations with astronomy and physics. He’s written for New Atlas, Stack magazine, Cracked, and Cards Against Humanity, and has dabbled in picture books and kids novels.

Michael completed Bachelors of Arts in both Professional Writing and Games Design, before writing about games, then technology, then science. And occasionally comedy and children’s fiction.

When not writing, he can be found playing video games or showing off his questionable Simpsons collection on TikTok.
