President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that in March 2026 Russia suffered its largest losses since the beginning of the full-scale war – more than 35,000 invaders were killed or severely wounded.

The Ukrainian President reported this on Telegram, as cited by Ukrinform.

“Russian losses this March have reached their highest level since the start of the war: our drone strikes alone resulted in 33,988 Russian servicemembers killed or seriously wounded, while artillery and other strikes eliminated another 1,363 Russian occupiers. That means more than 35,000 Russian losses in just one month – and these are clearly verified losses. We have video documentation of every such strike in our system,” Zelensky said.

He expressed gratitude to the warriors for their precision and especially recognized the personnel of the Special Operations Center “A” of Ukraine’s Security Service, the “Magyar's Birds,” the State Border Guard Service special unit “Phoenix,” “Lasar’s Group,” and the 95th Separate Airborne Assault Brigade. “These are the most effective units in the use of drones,” the Head of State said.

Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov reported to the President on the results of all units at the front. Zelenskyy noted that he has clear and verified reports for each sector and each category of strikes and is ready to provide the relevant data to Ukraine’s partners. “In effect, Ukraine’s Defense and Security Forces have deprived the occupier of the ability to dictate the nature of the situation on the battlefield,” he said.

The President emphasized that results in destroying Russian air defense systems have also significantly increased, with 274 such systems hit in March alone. “There have also been tangible results in the destruction of Russian depots and military logistics. The Ministry of Defense, together with the Armed Forces, will present a detailed report to the public for March – data that may be made public,” he added.

Zelensky also reported that following today’s meeting with Mykhailo Fedorov, the Ministry of Defense will prepare decisions to strengthen Ukrainian infantry, the military contract system, and responses to unauthorized abandonment of units – theses measures must be truly effective, Zelensky said.

He also noted that decisions are being prepared to scale up export opportunities for domestic arms manufacturers and expand joint production with partners.
