Summary
- Apple has revealed that it's holding an event on March 4th in New York City. The company will likely reveal its often-rumored 12-inch A18 MacBook to media influencers.
- The tech giant might also show off the M5 MacBook Pro and MacBook Air, as well as the iPhone 17e.
- The invite's colors hint that the rumored 12-inch MacBook could come in a variety of bright hues.
Apple has sent out invites to media and influencers for a "special Apple experience" in New York City on March 4th at 9am ET/6am PT. While nothing has been confirmed, it's likely the tech giant will reveal at least some of the recently rumored devices at the hands-on event. It's unclear whether a launch video will accompany the media event. Along with New York, Apple is holding events in London and Shanghai at the same time.
For the past few weeks, reports have indicated Apple is preparing to release an A18 Pro-powered MacBook (yes, the 12-inch MacBook might be returning from the dead), an M5 MacBook Pro and MacBook Air, the iPhone 17e, an M4 iPad Air, a refreshed entry-level A18 iPad, and maybe even a new Studio Display.
While we probably won't see all of these devices at the event, at least a few of them could make an appearance.
MacBook Air (M4, 2025) review: More power for less money
The M4 MacBook Air does not make much sense for those who already own the M3 version, but if you're on an M1 or older MacBook this is an easy upgrade
Not much can be learned from the cryptic invite
It's possible the new 12-inch MacBook could come in a variety of bright colors
I predict we'll likely see the A18 MacBook, alongside the M5 MacBook Pro and MacBook Air. Back when I still got invited to Apple events in 2023, the company held a small-scale "Scary Fast" hands-on experience in New York that centered on the release of the M3 iMac, MacBook Air, and MacBook Pro.
My guess is that's exactly what we'll see on March 4th, only this time the pre-recorded reveal video will be focused on the 12-inch MacBook, the M5 MacBook Pro, and the M5 MacBook Air, alongside hands-on impressions from invited tech media and influencers. I could also see the iPhone 17e and maybe even the rumored refreshed Studio Display being revealed, too.
Unlike most Apple events, not much can be gleaned from the "You're invited" text and the accompanying colorful blue, green, and yellow Apple logo. That said, the colors could be related to recent rumors from Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, indicating that the new 12-inch MacBook might be available in bright pastel-like hues, including yellow, light green, blue, and pink.
As we get closer to Apple's New York event, more details will likely leak about what might be announced.
The iPhone 17e might feature MagSafe and an A19 chip
Apple's entry-level smartphone is set to launch soon.
