Leaks surrounding the Nintendo Switch 2 have been coming at a constant rate. Before Nintendo revealed its next handheld system, leakers had already revealed the style, features, and even the console's specs. Now that the Nintendo Switch 2 is out there and everyone knows what it looks like, many have been wondering what games they can expect to be playing on the system when it is released.
What many believe to be Mario Kart 9 was already revealed to be coming to the Nintendo Switch 2. Whether this will be a launch title or not is yet to be determined, but that doesn't mean players aren't excited about hitting the racetrack once again. Since the announcement, rumors have been going around about other games that we could expect to see on the upcoming system, so I have gathered what rumored games I think are the best of the bunch.
4 Pokémon Legends Z-A
Why not?
Pokémon Legends Z-A was announced on Pokémon Day 2024, and it stunned many. Not only is the game bringing players back to Lumiose City from Pokémon X and Y but it is also rumored to feature city-building gameplay, allowing players to create their own version of the city. Rumors around Pokémon Legends Z-A and the Nintendo Switch 2 say that both the game and the console will be released in the summer.
Specifically, Pokémon Legends Z-A had a leak from Amazon spotted by user Light_88 on X that said it would be released on August 15, 2025. This makes it very probable that Legends Z-A could be a launch title for the Switch 2. More information about this will most likely come on the next Pokémon Day. With this, everyone should forget about Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.

A new war is brewing.
3 Metroid Prime 4: Beyond
Samus makes a triumphant return
Fans have waited ages for Metroid Prime 4: Beyond. It was first announced all the way back in 2017, and Nintendo has said little about it since. We know that the game will be released on the original Switch system, but many have speculated that the game will also be made for the Switch 2. This is mostly because the game is rumored to require a lot of processing power, and it will run more smoothly on the Switch 2.
After the trailer was shown off, many assumed that it was actually running on the Nintendo Switch 2 and not the base Switch system. Even IGN did some digging into this, but discovered little. Plus, many have pointed out that the Switch 2 will most likely have a mouse feature for the Joy-Cons, which will make it easier to play Metroid Prime 4, a game known for being a first-person shooter. Even if this title doesn't come directly to the Switch 2, it will still be backward compatible, so players can play the Switch version on the new system.
2 Untitled 3D Mario game
Bringing back the mascot
Many have suspected that a new 3D Mario title has been in the works for a while. After all, every console generation Nintendo has had has also come with a new Mario adventure. The most prominent title for the game is Mario Odyssey 2, but some have also suspected the game to be a continuation of the Mario Galaxy series.
This rumor is backed by an Insider Gaming article that shows what could be a slip-up from online retailer Newegg. This apparent mistake includes a new 3D Mario game in the list of games for a Nintendo eShop card. This also includes a new Legends of Zelda remake/remaster, but nobody knows what it could be. Maybe Windwaker?

1 Halo: The Master Chief Collection
From Xbox to Nintendo
Popular YouTuber NateTheHate stated in a podcast that the Xbox mascot himself, Master Chief, will finally be appearing on other platforms. Phil Spencer has openly discussed the possibility of making all first-party Xbox titles cross-platform. Of course, many didn't believe that story at first, but rumors have quickly spread that Halo will finally be released on both the PlayStation 5 and the Switch 2.
There is no better way to release Halo on both platforms than with the Master Chief Collection. It is hard to tell if the Switch 2 will be able to run all the Halo games, but if the console is as powerful as the rumors state, it should run just fine. However, it would be rather bizarre to see Master Chief on a console that isn't the Xbox or PC.
The Nintendo Switch 2 is full of possibilities
A lot of games have been rumored to be coming to the Switch 2, with most of them being classic Nintendo games. There have been multiple Mario games, a new Legend of Zelda remake/remaster, and even a new Animal Crossing game. Nintendo has many different avenues it can take with the new system, and fans will follow. After all, many loved the original system and still enjoy it several years later. I just hope the new system is powerful enough to run all the rumored games.
