In 2026, it can be hard to get excited for new tech with the rising costs of everything, but at Computex this year, companies brought their A game to wow us with some of the most exciting announcements of the year. From Nvidia entering the Windows on Arm space to shiny new gaming handhelds, there's some great stuff coming out of Taiwan this week.

Of course, we're on the show floor to bring you the goods, and that means we also have our favorites from this year's show. So without further ado, let's get right into the best tech we saw at Computex.

Nvidia RTX Spark

Windows on Arm just got so much better

Until now, the Windows on Arm space has been exclusively reserved for Qualcomm chips, and while they've been great, they've also been mostly aimed at low-power machines meant to be thin and light. Now, Nvidia is changing the game with its new RTX Spark platform, which changes everything we expect from Windows on Arm.

Nvidia RTX Spark includes a range of different chips, but it goes up to a whopping 20 Arm-based CPU cores, paired with a Blackwell GPU with 6,144 CUDA cores and Tensor cores for powerful graphics performance as well as incredible capabilities for AI workloads. Add to that 128GB of unified memory using a super-fast interconnect for up to 600GB/s of bandwidth, and this is looking like Windows' answer to Apple's high-end chips for creators.

Right now, we can only imagine the possibilities for this new chip, but I can't wait to see it inside devices I can test. — João Carrasqueira, OS and Devices Segment Lead

Intel Arc G3

Gaming handhelds get a huge upgrade

Gaming handhelds are taking the market by storm, both retro-focused devices and compact portable PCs that can handle modern games. Both require high-performance chips to power through all the demanding scenes while making the most of the available battery supply. AMD has a firm grip on the gaming handheld segment, but Intel isn't staying down with the launch of Intel Arc G3 at Computex.

This new series of processors, consisting of the Arc G3 and Arc G3 Extreme, is built on the same architecture as the Panther Lake Intel Core Ultra Series 3. We're excited to see what this will bring to market with the first confirmed devices to be the Acer Predator Atlas 8, MSI Claw 8 EX AI+, and OneXPlayer. Inside the SoC are Arc B370 or B390 graphics, 14 CPU cores, and a maximum TDP of 35W. Intel needs this to succeed to make a dent in AMD's lead. — Richard Pinnock-Edmonds, PC Hardware and Home Segment Lead

Asus ROG Xbox Ally X20

Celebrating 20 years with a stunning upgrade

Asus is back with the ROG Xbox Ally X20, a handheld that’s sort of the ROG Xbox Ally 1.5, but at the same time, not really. While it features the same AMD Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme processor and 24GB of LPDDR5X RAM, its 1080p display has been upgraded to a 120Hz 7.4-inch OLED panel.

Other key changes include a cool-looking translucent body that showcases its internal hardware, reliable TMR joysticks, an eight-way-transforming D-pad, and rubber grips that aim to make long game sessions more comfortable. It’s unclear when the ROG Xbox Ally X20 will release or how much it’ll cost, but given that the handheld is dropping alongside the XREAL R1 Edition 20 Gaming AR Glasses, it’ll likely at least land in the $2,000 range. — Patrick O'Rourke, News Editor and Entertainment Segment Lead

Dell XPS 13

A MacBook Neo killer with actual upgrade options

Like clockwork, Dell has refreshed its popular 13-inch XPS 13, hitting the very competitive price point of $700 and $600 for students. The base-level configuration features 6 core Intel Core 5 320 “Wildcat Lake” chip, 512GB of storage, and 8GB of RAM. The laptop also includes a 13.4-inch anti-glare touchscreen with a 2560x1600 pixel resolution and a 20-120Hz variable refresh rate.

The XPS 13 is Dell’s thinnest and lightest laptop yet, measuring just 0.5-inches (12.7mm) thick and weighing just 2.2lbs (1kg), making it easy to droping a backpack and take on the go. It’s obvious Dell aims for the entry-level XPS 13 to be a Windows 11 MacBook Neo alternative, and based on its solid specs, where it clearly surpasses Apple’s entry-level laptop in several ways, the PC maker makes a solid argument for its 2026 XPS 13 refresh. — Patrick O'Rourke, News Editor and Entertainment Segment Lead

Acer Predator Atlas 8

A sleek and powerful gaming handheld

Acer is prepping to launch a beast of a new gaming handheld. The new Intel Arc G3 processor range is going to be powering this monstrous portable gaming machine. It's poised to provide real competition against AMD's leading position within the market. For the Predator Atlas 8, Acer will be packing it with up to 24GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. The 8-inch WUXGA 1920x1200 pixel resolution screen looks to be absolutely gorgeous.

Set to release later in 2026, the Arc G3 Extreme-powered Predator Atlas 8 is a familiar look since most gaming handhelds resemble the same form factor, but Acer will attempt to differentiate this model from the competition with that expansive screen, LED-backed thumbsticks, and all that RAM and storage. For battery life, we're looking at a massive 80 Wh pack, and a dual-fan setup ensures the system remains cool under load. It'll handle modern games with ease.

Asus Ascent QN10

The Snapdragon X2 Elite finally comes to mini PCs

Qualcomm's Snapdragon X2 chips have already made their debut on a handful of laptops, but a market that's been far too neglected recently is the one for Arm-powered mini PCs. Asus is finally answering those demands with the new Ascent QN10 mini PC, powered by Qualcomm's latest Arm chips for Windows PCs, and that's enough to get us excited.

Mini PCs are already great if you want a compact machine that can handle day-to-day workloads, but having an Arm chip at its heart means we can get that in an even more efficient package, with great CPU and GPU performance to boot. We're not sure when this device will be properly available, but it's exactly what the mini PC scene needs. — João Carrasqueira, OS and Devices Segment Lead

Surface Laptop Ultra

The most powerful Surface Laptop yet

After months of rumors and speculation, the Surface Laptop Ultra has finally officially been revealed. With Microsoft describing it as “the most powerful thing we’ve ever made,” it has a lot to live up to, and thanks to Nvidia’s beefy Arm-based RTX Spark “superchip,” it seems like it just might.

The RTX Spark is roughly the same chip Nvidia already includes in its DGX Spark mini-PC aimed at AI developers, but it’s been optimized for Windows 11 laptops. While we don’t yet know the Surface Laptop Ultra’s specific chip specs, the DGX Spark features 20 CPU cores, 6,144 GPU cores, and 128GB of unified memory, so we have a pretty good idea of what the Surface Laptop’s chip will offer.

What we do know about the impressive-looking Surface Laptop Ultra is that it features a 15-inch mini-LED PixelSense Ultra touchscreen display with up to 2,000 nit peak HDR brightness, along with an expansive haptic touchpad, “all-day battery life,” three USB-C ports, a USB-A port, an SD card slot, an HDMI port, and a headphone jack. Microsoft says the Surface Laptop Ultra is scheduled to release this coming fall, and pricing will be available closer to its release. — Patrick O'Rourke, News Editor and Entertainment Segment Lead

AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D

AM4 just refuses to die

The Ryzen 7 5800X3D isn't a new processor, nor should it be considered a fresh launch for the company. What this process is, however, is a great way for those with older AM4 platforms to continue upgrading from older, less-capable chips. It's no secret that PC hardware pricing has gotten out of control lately, and to lend a small hand, AMD is continuing to support AM4 and AM5, providing as much choice as possible.

The 5800X3D is re-released to celebrate AMD's 10th anniversary of using 3D V-Cache for impressive gaming processors. The AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D 10th Anniversary Edition even comes with a custom thermal interface material (TIM), the stuff that's applied to the top of the CPU for creating a better seal with the installed cooler base plate. If you're struggling to find a way to improve your AM4 PC, this may well be the chip for you from Computex. — Richard Pinnock-Edmonds, PC Hardware and Home Segment Lead
