It's easy to get wrapped up in all the new laptops, desktops, and mobile devices announced at Computex, but you can't overlook the accessories side of the trade show. After all, while the computers look fantastic, you still need input devices to interact with them.

Fortunately, Cherry is here to bring in some brand new switches for 2025, some of which use a type the company hasn't produced before. So, if you want some new keyboard switches to go alongside that PC you're considering preordering, Cherry has you covered.

Cherry reveals the Cherry IK, MX Honey, MX Blossom, and MX Falcon switches

First up, we have the Cherry IK switches. These use electromagnetic field detection to achieve "true contactless actuation" which uses 50% less power than magnetic switches and 5% less power than Hall switches, which Cherry states makes them ideal for wireless keyboards where a longer battery life is key. These keys should come out in Fall 2025.

Next up is the MX Honey, one of its firsts that Cherry introduced at Computex. It claims the MX Honey is its first silent tactile MX switch, which cuts down on the noise without sacrificing performance:

As part of the new MX2A family, the MX Honey features CHERRY’s latest mechanical upgrades, including a newly optimized spring and factory-applied premium lubrication, ensuring smoother keystrokes, softer acoustics, and over 100 million keystrokes of durability.

The MX Honey will hopefully come out next month with 36-switch consumer kits to follow, so keep an eye out if you want quieter typing.

After that is the MX Blossom, which takes aesthetic cues from the cherry blossom season; however, it's more than just a pretty pink sight. It also has a feather-light 35 cN actuation force, so your fingers can dance across the keyboard with little effort. These will also be released in June, with consumer switch kits coming soon.

Finally, if you want something with a little more oomph, you've got the MX Falcon switches. These are inspired by the "crisp snap" of typewriters and are perfect for heavy typists who want something that complements their typing style. Cherry says we'll see these hefty switches come out in "early June," so you don't have long to wait for them to be released.
