When I’m in a hurry, the last thing I want to do is stop and have to add an event to my Google Calendar. It usually doesn’t take long, but it’s enough to break my concentration. But once I connected Google Calendar to Claude, that part got a lot less annoying.
I was mid-article when I realized I had to schedule various events
Claude helped me sort them out before I lost my train of thought
I was in a hurry to finish an article on Windows 11, since I had to go out soon. Right in the middle of it, I remembered that I still had five events to schedule and one to cancel. I couldn’t remember the dates or times. Then I remembered I’d already connected Google Calendar to Claude through the Connectors feature.
I asked Claude to look through my schedule, cancel a wedding anniversary party, add a friend gathering, and help me sort out the rest. I wasn’t too sure which events were on Monday and which were on the weekend. But that didn’t matter because Claude found them, listed each one, and let me confirm everything was right. It showed me the right dates and times so I could quickly confirm everything.
I tried Claude Dispatch, and now I send tasks from my phone and come back to finished work
I used to start every task myself. Now I send Claude a message from my phone and see the results as soon as I sit down.
Claude showed me when I was free without making me dig through my calendar
It saved me from scheduling two events at the same time
Claude saved me from having to deal with a scheduling conflict. I forgot I had a Zoom meeting on Friday morning, and I almost scheduled a doctor’s appointment for the same time. I’m glad I didn’t have to waste time opening another tab -> going to Calendar -> clicking on the date, and checking the time slots myself. When Claude was done, it gave me a summary of what it did, showing me the date, time, and the event name.
It also showed me what times were still open, so I could pick another slot right away instead of checking the rest of the day myself. Having Claude show me the conflict right away saved me at least five to 10 minutes, which I put back into finishing that Windows 11 draft.
Claude helped me find a time that made sense for everyone
I could send good options instead of throwing out random ones
I wanted to set up a Zoom meeting with three friends I rarely get to see. One lives in Los Angeles, another in Italy, and the third in the UK. I was getting nowhere trying to find a time that worked for all of us. I asked Claude to check my calendar and help me narrow down a time I could suggest to everyone.
Claude came back with a better option than the one I would’ve guessed on my own. It showed me that I was completely free on Sunday, and the beginning of the week was on the light side as well. It pointed out that after 4 PM my time, it starts getting late for my friends in Europe. I would’ve suggested 7 PM, which feels like a normal evening time for me. But it’s a little late for my friends in the UK and Italy.
It’s not perfect, so I still double-check
Claude told me I was free when I wasn’t
Claude really helped me plan my week, but I still like to double-check that everything was added correctly. I asked Claude to check if I had anything on Thursday evening. It said I was free at 7 PM, but since I had a feeling I had already planned something, I asked it to double-check. Turns out I did have something scheduled at 7. Claude could only say, “My Bad!” After taking a second look, Claude suggested 8 PM after the vet visit. If I hadn’t pushed back, I would’ve ended up with two things at the same time.
I’m still using Claude to schedule my events despite its mistakes
A quick double-check is faster than doing all the calendar work myself
I wasn’t very happy when Claude almost scheduled two events for the same time and day. But the good news is that the mistake was easy to fix. I only had to double-check the schedule and change what was wrong. I prefer that to spending five to 10 minutes fixing everything myself.
Scheduling stopped pulling me away from what I was doing
After connecting Claude to my Google Calendar, I’m not going back to scheduling my events like I used to. I save more time by having Claude do it, and it also helps me find the right times for my events. I don’t have to open another tab and stare at all the colors my calendar is divided into. Claude can also help me when there are different time zones to consider and suggest a meeting date. It’s a keeper despite its mistakes.
