The semi-annual Prime Day celebrations are a fantastic time to find those devices that have been sitting on your wishlist all year, at deeply slashed prices. But it's not that often you see something that was recently released and is on deep discounts, but that's what we have here with the Ecovacs Deebot X11, which is currently 20% off on a Prime Big Deal. That's $300 off the sticker price, for the pinnacle of Ecovacs' expertise in automated floor cleaning.

Why should you buy this robovac?

This is the robovac that I'm using currently, and it's a huge improvement over the older models I've got dotted around my home. For a start, it's much quieter, both in the suction noise and the amount of noise the rubberized wheels make while rolling around my wood floors. It's kept my dining room, living room, and kitchen much tidier, and the roller mop does a better job of getting the surface squeaky clean than the other mopping solutions I've used in the past.

I've got it set to do a quick clean every day, but you could schedule deeper cleans on a less regular schedule, or whatever works for your home. It has plenty of suction power and uses LiDAR to map your home, so it knows where the walls are and where any obstacles like furniture may be. Unlike previous models, the scanning also splits your map into the rooms it thinks exist, which were pretty accurate in my open-plan layout.

But the best feature is the auto-emptying dock, which has a bagless cyclone to whisk dust and dirt out of the robovac, meaning you never have to buy another vacuum bag ever again. It'll also use hot water to clean the mop, and then use hot air to dry it, so your home won't get the smell of fusty mop after a few cleaning sessions. And again, this is the peak of Ecovacs' technology, so I'm sure there are some features I haven't managed to use yet that will get my floors (and yours!) even cleaner.
