After announcing Forza Horizon 5 for PlayStation 5 in January this year, the company has now made another major Xbox-exclusive official across all major platforms this summer: Gears of War, one of the best games that many believed Microsoft should port to PlayStation.

Gears of War: Reloaded is coming to PlayStation 5 on this date

In its official blog post on Xbox Wire, the software giant has officially announced Gears of War: Reloaded with pretty much all the key details you need to know. Gears of War: Reloaded will launch on August 26, 2025, for $39.99 on Xbox Series X and S, Xbox PC, Xbox Cloud Gaming, PlayStation 5, and Steam. Game Pass Ultimate or PC Game Pass users will also be able to play the game on the same day.

Gears of War: Reloaded is a remaster of the original game to make the gameplay 'look and feel incredible.' It will offer 4K resolution with 60 FPS in Campaign and 120 FPS in multiplayer, HDR support, Variable Refresh Rate, 4K assets and remastered textures, improved shadows and reflection, Dolby Vision & 7.1.4 Dolby Atmos, Super resolution with improved anti-aliasing, and more.

Moreover, Microsoft has something for longtime Gears of War fans. You don't need to pay $39.99 to purchase Gears of War: Reloaded if you purchased the digital version of Gears of War: Ultimate Edition before 16:00 UTC on May 5, 2025. If that's you, Microsoft will deliver a code for Gears of War: Reloaded before the launch to your Xbox account.

More Xbox-exclusive titles may launch on PlayStation soon
