Just ahead of Computex, Intel has revealed its Intel Arc G3-Series chips, a new family of processors designed for the next generation of handheld gaming PCs.
The tech giant says the series will launch with the Intel Arc G3 and the higher-end Intel Arc G3 Extreme, a pair of handheld-focused chips that build on the architecture of its Panther Lake Intel Core Ultra Series 3, which Intel first revealed at CES 2026. Intel says its "leading partners" will launch devices in the coming months, starting with Acer's Predator Atlas 8, MSI's Claw 8 EX AI+, and OneXPlayer.
In a press release, Dan Rogers, the Vice President and General Manager of PC Product at Intel, describes the Arc G3 series as offering "console-like accessibility and "breakthrough efficiency." Below is a full statement from Rogers:
Intel Arc G-Series represents years of focused innovation and a deep commitment to gaming. It delivers uncompromising PC performance in the palm of your hand, combined with the console-like accessibility and immediacy gamers expect. With cutting-edge graphics technologies like XeSS 3 and breakthrough efficiency for longer unplugged play, Intel Arc G-Series proves that while others make tradeoffs, gamers don't have to.

Intel says that the G3-Series features up to Intel Arc B390 graphics built on its latest Xe3 architecture, enabling features like real-time ray tracing and XeSS 3 AI upscaling, including XeSS Super Resolution, XeSS Multi-Frame Generation, and Xe Low Latency. Other features include "Day-0" driver support to ensure game compatibility, Xbox Mode, Intel Pre-compiled Shaders, Wi-Fi 7 R2, Dual Bluetooth 6, and Thunderbolt 4.
While both chips feature 14 CPU cores, the Arc B390-Equipped Intel Arc G3 Extreme includes 12 GPU Xe cores and a higher maximum frequency of 2.3 GHz. You can find the specs for both chips below:

When it comes to the Intel Arc G3 series, I'm most interested in how efficient the chips are. I'm a big fan of handheld PC gaming, especially my ROG Xbox Ally X, but the battery life is awful, even when running at a lower power wattage. If Intel's new chips can solve that issue, while still offering a minor power boost, it would be huge for the handheld PC gaming space and offer real competition to AMD for the first time.
Intel says its OEM partners will share more about devices featuring Arc G3 series chips at Computex next week, so be prepared for a flurry of announcements.
