Nvidia has confirmed that DLSS 4.5 with 6x Multi Frame Generation is launching on March 31st for RTX 50-series GPUs.

According to the GPU giant, DLSS 4.5 (which features its more advanced transformer-based super resolution) and 6x Multi Frame Generation can generate "five additional frames for every single natively rendered one, for a maximum 6X multiplier," a notable increase from the three extra frames DLSS 4 is capable of generating. On 50-series GPUs, Dynamic Frame Generation can automatically switch between Multi Frame Generation multipliers to hit your target frame rate or your monitor's refresh rate, preventing screen tearing and wasting resources by generating extra frames that your display can't use.

While both features were announced at CES 2026, Nvidia didn't provide a specific public release date for 6x Multi Frame Generation, instead stating that it would launch in the Spring. DLSS 4.5 has been available since mid-January, and while it's more resource-intensive than DLSS 4, the AI-infused upscaler yields impressive results, especially at low resolutions. I've spent a lot of time playing Arc Raiders over the past few weeks, and the game looks incredible at 4K resolution on my RTX 5090 with DLSS 4.5 enabled and set to Quality.

New GeForce Now features are on the way

If you use the game streaming platform in VR, you'll appreciate this update

Alongside 6x Multi Frame Generation and DLSS 4.5, Nvidia also revealed a few notable upgrades to GeForce Now, including the ability to link the game streaming platform to your GOG account in the "coming months."

Additionally, GeForce Now supports 90fps in VR, up from 60fps (this requires an Ultimate-tier subscription). Finally, select Xbox games will also be coming to GeForce Now's Install-to-Play library, including Brutal Legend and Contrast.
