Elden Ring took the world by storm when it was launched back in 2022. It quickly rose through the ranks and became known as the best Souls game From Software has ever made. Many praised its larger build potential, beautiful open world, and amazing character design. Elden Ring got even more praise when the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC was released. Now, many are eagerly anticipating the release of the next Elden Ring experience, Elden Ring Nightreign — a game that focuses on a co-op experience with even greater movement mechanics and a randomized world. Before this game is released, it is a good idea to jump back into the original. Here are a few reasons you should restart Elden Ring.
5 Try out new builds
There's plenty to experience
Elden Ring is full of weapons, spells, shields, armor, talismans, and more. If you include the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC, the total weapon count is 308. That doesn't include all the items in the other categories. It is thanks to this that the build potential in Elden Ring is through the roof. From time to time, I like to run back through the game using different items than I am used to.
Doing this makes the game feel fresh, and it also lets you practice with the different weapon types. You might have beaten the game using a dexterity build at first, making the challenge even greater if you decide to switch to a strength build or if you start incorporating magic. There is so much to try that it would be an absolute shame to only run through the game once with one type of build.
Elden Ring is the best PC game ever made and here's why
You owe it to yourself if you haven't yet played this masterpiece
4 Beat the DLC
With a fresh character
The Shadow of the Erdtree DLC is very difficult. It is so difficult that From Software recommends you jump into the DLC after reaching level 125. While you might have a character who is close to or already past that level, it is better to jump into the DLC with a fresh character. Once you get back into the swing of things and take on the necessary bosses to access the DLC with a build you like, you can then start to try out different weapons and not need to worry about wasting your Larval Tears. After all, you only get a few of them throughout the game, and previous characters might have used almost all of them.
3 Challenge runs
Show how good you are
Challenge runs are one of the biggest pastimes for many Souls fans. They want to go back through the games they love, but try something they have never done before. Perhaps you want to see if you can beat the game within a few hours, or maybe you want to try and beat it at a lower level. Trying out a challenge run in Elden Ring makes the game feel vastly different from how it did when you played it the first time. Have you ever tried beating the game on level one? Perhaps you might have luck beating Elden Ring without using any flasks. There are many ways to play through the game, which is why people love it so much.
2 Mods
There are tons of them
Maybe you have played Elden Ring to death, and you just don't think it could be any different the tenth time around. Well, downloading a few mods will help make the game feel fresh and give you that feeling of when you first stepped out into the land of Limgrave for the first time. One of the best mods I have used is the randomizer. It randomizes every item, enemy, and boss in the game, so you don't know what to expect. You might end up fighting Morgott as soon as you step outside.
7 best Soulsborne bosses that should be in Elden Ring Nightreign
There are over 100 bosses in the Soulsborne franchise. Here are some of the best bosses that should be revived for Elden Ring Nightreign.
1 Prepare for Nightreign
It's a whole new challenge
Nightreign is different than any other Souls game. It focuses on multiplayer combat and running through the land quickly, rather than being able to take your time. Because of this, you might want to practice before jumping into the game and getting beaten senseless by the first enemy you see. To prepare for the next game by From Software, jumping back into Elden Ring will allow you to practice, so the Misbegotten foes don't trounce all over you.
If you plan on practicing for Nightreign, we recommend taking the time to learn the different attack patterns of the various foes found in the Lands Between. It will also help to practice using different weapons against the game's numerous bosses. After all, most of the Elden Ring bosses are bound to make an appearance in Nightreign, so it will help to know their patterns.
It is still an exciting game
Elden Ring is an exciting game with much to offer, more so than any other game From Software has made. While the game is large, it is great to jump back into the Lands Between. You can get some practice in for Nightreign, try out a build you have never used before, complete a few challenge runs, or see if you have the ability to take down all the enemies in the lands of shadow. Elden Ring has plenty to offer, and replaying the game will definitely not disappoint.
