A gaming PC with a Radeon RX 9070 XT is cheaper than an RTX 5090 alone, says Newegg
It's still not cheap, but I'll take it.
Tapping into the hype
Everyone wanted this to go well
Intel worked some magic with its super-aggressive B-series GPU pricing, offering excellent entry points for gamers wanting solid and reliable 1440p gaming experiences. AMD is stuck between Intel's second-gen Arc and Nvidia's RTX 50 series. The company continues to focus on the mid-range segment, following on from its RX 7900 range of RDNA 3 GPUs. The RX 9070 series promises excellent 1440p and 4K gaming.
According to materials released by AMD — hold out for our in-depth reviews — you can expect to see more than three times the FPS performance with FSR 4 in specific supported titles. More than 30 games will be supported at launch, with a further 75 to come throughout 2025. AMD even took some quick pop shots at Nvidia with confirmation of 8-pin PCIe ports for both GPUs and was sure to cover raw performance upgrades outside of software support.
GPU pricing has gradually grown out of control, with the latest Nvidia flagship sitting just south of $2,000. It's a flagship product, sure, but that's the cost of three fully built systems. $549 for the RX 9070 and $599 for the RX 9070 XT is where we need 4K pricing to stick around. Whether you can purchase either AMD Radeon RX 90 series at their MSRP is an entirely different question. We don't expect supply to keep up with demand, especially with scalpers expecting to make a quick buck with this highly anticipated product launch.
When can you buy them? March 6th!
