Every year there are countless laptops that get released. And while I'd love to upgrade every single year, that just isn't necessary. So it's a pretty big investment when you're thinking about buying something new. Not only are there financial considerations, but you also have to take time and effort to find the one that's right for you.

As someone that spends a lot of their time browsing the web, writing, and streaming — a midrange laptop usually ends up working out quite well. I don't have to pay a premium price, but I still get a ton of power and value. And while there are a lot of great options in this segment, my pick is the Lenovo Yoga 7.

The best midrange option

We reviewed the Yoga 7 in the summer and dubbed it as the 'best midrange' option. The AMD Ryzen AI 5 processor is powerful yet sips battery life, allowing you to enjoy long hours of use while away from a power outlet. We also liked the 2-in-1 design and that it was priced competitively.

Now, this was all said when this laptop was priced at $1,000. So, you can imagine my excitement when I discovered that this laptop received a $420 discount, dropping it down to just $530. It's nearly half off right now, making it an incredible laptop to pickup if you need something that can easily handle the basics.

What's the hardware like?

The Yoga 7 features a 14-inch 2K OLED touchscreen and is powered by an AMD Ryzen AI 5 chip. It also has 16GB of RAM, along with 512GB of SSD storage. Lenovo states that this laptop can reach up to 13 hours of battery life. And in our testing, it did pretty good, lasting up to 11 hours.

While everyone's experience will be a little different, we don't think you'll need to bring the charger with you if you're planning on just working for eight hours straight. The port selection is also quite good here, with two USB-C, one USB-A, HDMI, a microSD card slot, and a 3.5mm audio jack.

It packs incredible value at its current price of $530. Lenovo is known to build some fine laptops, and this Yoga 7 is a stellar example. Just be sure to grab it while it's still on sale. Or if you just need something cheap, these are some that we'd suggest.
