Time shows no signs of slowing down, and just like that, we're nearing the end of yet another year. And while it was a year with some unfortunate events in the tech world (and beyond), we always like to focus on the things worth celebrating. We've already highlighted our favorite games of 2025, but now it's time to focus on tech itself.

And there were quite a lot of amazing products launched this year, from mind-bending rollable displays to ridiculously thin phones, and of course, a new generation of Nintendo consoles. It's been a busy year full of great tech, so let's jump right in and highlight the best of the best.

Lenovo ThinkBook Plus Gen 6 Rollable

Lenovo does it again

Lenovo is known for combining quirky design elements with solid internal specs, and this year’s ThinkBook Plus Rollable doesn’t betray that expectation. At first glance, the ThinkBook Plus Rollable bears a seemingly unassuming 14-inch screen that you’d find on typical premium, productivity-first laptops. But upon closer inspection, you’ll find a thick bezel that hides yet another display that, when fully unrolled, gives you 16.7 inches of screen real estate to work with.

Under the hood, the laptop packs an efficient Intel Core Ultra 7 258V processor and 32GB of LPDDR5X RAM to ensure you don’t encounter performance issues in your everyday tasks. You also get the high-quality keyboard and touchpad design Lenovo is famous for, alongside surprisingly decent battery life. The only caveats are its high price tag and lack of GPU firepower, but if you’re willing to put up with those, the ThinkBook Plus Rollable is an amazing concept laptop. — Ayush Pande, Senior PC Hardware Author

Asus Zenbook A14

How is it so light, yet so great?

It takes quite a bit for a laptop to impress Content Director Rich Woods, but that's precisely what Asus managed to achieve with the Zenbook A14. Whether it was the surprisingly good keyboard for the form factor, the compact and light size, or the gorgeous OLED, or all of the above, it was rewarded with a solid review score. Joining the Snapdragon CPU is 16 GB of LPDDR5X RAM, 512 GB internal storage, and a long-lasting 70 WHr battery pack.

Although the Snapdragon X Plus 8-core CPU is slightly underpowered, we found it to be quite the workhorse for regular productivity tasks. If you're looking for a new best friend to get all your work done, the Zenbook A14 should be near the top of your shortlist. It's also great for days when you won't be tethered to a power outlet for hours at end. Long-haul flights? No problem! — Richard Pinnock-Edmonds, Segment Lead, PC Hardware & Home

Lenovo ThinkCenter Neo 50q QC

This mini PC is a certified banger

It's not that long ago that every mini PC had anemic processors that still made their tiny cooling fans scream at the slightest task. Now every CPU is power-efficient, but maybe not quite as much as the Snapdragon X Plus used in this tiny Lenovo. You even get 45 TOPS of power in the Hexagon NPU, perfect for Windows' slew of AI features, or for running local LLMs.

Lenovo's ThinkCenter Neo 50q QC surprises with its capabilities, but is it the right fit for you?

We got our hands on one of the early production units and found we didn't miss our powerful desktops quite as much as expected. It's a fantastic productivity device by any metric we could think of, and it's exciting to have Arm on the desktop from more sources than Apple. — Joe Rice-Jones, Senior PC Hardware Author

HP EliteBook X (G1a)

A great business laptop

HP manages to craft some of the best-looking premium laptops money can buy, and the EliteBook X G1a is no exception. Sporting a silver chassis and enough ports for your peripherals, the EliteBook X G1a trades the power efficiency of Intel’s Meteor Lake processors for the extra CPU prowess of AMD’s Ryzen AI Series (and a slightly heavier chassis).

Screen-wise, you can choose between an IPS model and an OLED variant, though the latter’s beautiful display and 120Hz variable refresh rate make it worth the extra price. As weird as it may sound, HP’s AI-centric tools are surprisingly useful for daily tasks, and you get a neat 5MP webcam with a privacy shutter. Combine all that with solid battery life, and the EliteBook X G1a is a killer laptop for professional users. — Ayush Pande, Senior PC Hardware Author

Lenovo Chromebook Plus 14

This Arm-powered Chromebook delivers

Due to their budget constraints, most Chromebooks tend to have deal-breaking issues. But every once in a while, you’ll find a device that manages to overcome these limitations and hold its own against typical Windows laptops. The 14-inch Lenovo Chromebook Plus is one such device, which ships with a fanless design that you wouldn’t find on its Windows equivalents.

It even includes an FHD+ OLED display and houses a powerful MediaTek Kompanio Ultra CPU underneath its sleek, silver chassis. The Arm architecture of the processor makes it pretty efficient on the battery front, while the 50TOPS NPU makes this Chromebook adept at AI tasks. If you’re on the hunt for a quiet laptop that can handle daily tasks and don’t mind using ChromeOS instead of Windows, the Lenovo Chromebook Plus is an excellent budget-friendly option. — Ayush Pande, Senior PC Hardware Author

Nintendo Switch 2

Building on Nintendo's best platform yet

The Nintendo Switch has already become the company's best-selling console ever, and considering the huge library of amazing games from Nintendo and third parties, including both new and old games, it's no wonder. But after 8 years, the company finally introduced a successor, and the Nintendo Switch 2 has been off to a fantastic start. As we said in our review, this is the ultimate form of Nintendo's vision, and the best gaming handheld at the time of its launch.

The Switch 2 is packed with upgrades, including a bigger, sharper, and brighter screen with HDR support and 120Hz, far more powerful processors, and a greatly improved design that's still one of the sleekest handhelds around. Add mouse controls built right into the included controllers, and this is an exquisite piece of hardware that does things never before seen in the console space. And Nintendo has wasted no time pumping out bangers for this console, with titles like Donkey Kong Bananza, Mario Kart World, and Kirby Air Riders all appearing on our top 10 ranking of games launched in 2025. Now, when will we get the long-awaited Switch 3? João Carrasqueira, Segment Lead, OS & Devices

Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge

Razor thin

I'm still enjoying the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra and I happen to be a fan of the company's more recent versions of its custom Android-powered OS. The S25 Edge takes everything I love with the S23 and cranks it all up to 11. It's ridiculously thin. No, seriously, the Edge comes in at just 5.8 mm. The S25 Ultra is 8.2 mm thick and that's not uncomfortable to wield nor does it feel overbearing as a smartphone. So this thing is super thin.As well as the design, the S25 Edge rocks a 6.7-inch AMOLED 2X display with a stunning 120Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ support. You'll love staring at the screen as much as we do. Inside the device is the trusty Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite, 12 GB of RAM, and up to 512 GB of storage. It's a smartphone designed to last for many years and you won't feel the need to upgrade for some time. — Richard Pinnock-Edmonds, Segment Lead, PC Hardware & Home

iPhone 17 Pro Max

Nobody quite does it like Apple

The iPhone Pro range no longer has subdued tones and an understated design. Instead, the iPhone 17 Pro Max is bold, brash, and bright, and it's better for it. The powerful A19 Pro chip chews through any tasks set before it, and the incredible battery life enabled by the shifting of the logic board into the camera bar means no more worrying about chargers until you get home.

The new vapor chamber cooling keeps things manageable, and the new Ceramic Shield back makes me worry about cracks less than in previous years. Three 48-megapixel cameras on the rear, an 18-megapixel selfie cam with neat tricks that let it take horizontal shots when held vertically, and the gorgeous, super-bright OLED display that can reach 3,000 nits when outdoors all contribute to what's one of the best phones for anyone to use. — Joe Rice-Jones, Senior PC Hardware Author

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7

Samsung's weight loss program must have been strict this year

For years, Samsung's foldable flagship didn't seem to get significant changes with each iteration, and with prices not getting any lower, it was easy to be a downer. But like any chef, Samsung just needed time to cook, and the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is a huge leap forward for the company and anyone wanting to buy a foldable phone in the United States.

Taking some notes from the Galaxy S25 Edge and slimming down from 12.1mm to 8.9mm when foldable, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 finally feels like a traditional slab phone that you can actually use with just the cover screen without it feeling like a brick in your hands or in your pocket. Plus, it's lighter, too, and it has a noticeably larger inner screen for a more immersive experience than ever. It feels like Samsung has finally hit its stride with foldable phones, and the future is more promising than ever. — João Carrasqueira, Segment Lead, OS & Devices

AirPods Pro 3

A worthy upgrade for Apple fans

The AirPods Pro 3 might be more of an iterative upgrade, but they were building on an already great pair of buds, and nothing works better when you're in the Apple ecosystem. Fast switching between your devices is improved, ANC is much better and now removes up to 2x the noise, and you now get heart rate tracking from your earbuds.

They're a little smaller, a little better-fitting (for the majority of users), and have new foam-filled eartips that are supposed to stay in place better. And my biggest annoyance on the Pro 2, the pairing button, is now capacitive instead of being hard to press. Oh, and they support Live Translation when connected to an iPhone that supports Apple Intelligence, giving added value to what's already a good package. — Joe Rice-Jones, Senior PC Hardware Author
