Five people were injured, two civilians and three French peacekeepers -- one of whom was seriously injured.

The rocket exploded early Monday morning about 50 metres from the Finnish base, Camp Katariina. There are only about 10 Finns stationed there.

Altogether 110 Finnish peacekeepers are participating in the ISAF operation in the country. The rest are stationed in Mazar-i-Sharif in northern Afghanistan.

An additional 100 Finns will be deployed in the north to help oversee the run-up to Afghanistan's elections in August.
