At a seminar arranged by the Taxpayers' Association of Finland, representatives from the Social Democrat and National Coalition parties expressed readiness to raise the threshold for payment of inheritance tax.

The National Coalition was ready for a phased abolition of both inheritance and gift taxation. It also proposed a tax ceiling on dividends less than 5,000 euros. The Centre Party is also considering the same move.

Major parties expressed their willingness to help the tax burden faced by many pensioners. They want to reduce the taxation of those pensioners who pay out more than wage earners.
