Honda Chiaki is Gorou's biological mother who passed away when Gorou was three years old.
Her death hits both Shigeharu and Gorou hard; however, Shigeharu manages to pull himself together and proceeds to raise Gorou by himself until he meets Hoshino Momoko, Gorou's kindergarten teacher, who bears a striking resemblance with the late Chiaki.
