Hmm, having three dildos as a replacement for you hand makes you unpopular? But in the end she will be the ultimate pussymonster destroyer!

Actually expected a bit more, reminds me actually of Mortal Engines and not in a good way.

Hmm I liked it, yeah it reminds me of Mortal Engines, Mad Max and Pacific Rim all in one. Its a brilliant concept, here's hoping they don't fuck it up.

Heh, had to think of Mad Max as well. Was tinkering with the idea to dub it Mortal Engines: Fury Road.

I still have some hopes, was one of the more interesting looking shows this season.

It really gives Mad Max vibes, but on the other hand it reminds me of Kujira no Kora wa Sajou ni Utau. Definitely not bad, but not stellar either. I really have to praise Kusunoki Tomori as Natsume, she is without big roles in her portfolio but really doing her job in this show. I hope that they don't mess it up and it'll be solid point of this (somehow weak) season

All the technicals seem great for the first ep. Decent art, animation, direction, script, acting, and so forth. Not a whole lot of plot revealed yet, though, and I'm a little bit hesitant about some of the hints they've left toward future episodes. But this is at least being treated like an A-tier sort of production, which gives it some chance of also having a decent enough story. As far as similars go, sure, Mortal Engines and Mad Max ring bells. But it also has a pretty strong Trigger sort of feel to it. Also, don't forget eternal classics such as Darling in the Franxx (speaking of Trigger...) also utilize mobile weapon-cities. I think, aside from the "generic post-apocalyptic" premise so far, Mortal Engines probably has the best likelihood of being an inspiration.

So far, I think this show has a lot of potential, but it just remains to be seen so far how it'll all pan out. The plot and setting are both a bit generic at this point, so there's lots of room to grow or fail to grow, depending on the actual plot. I'm definitely in for the season here, and I want to have my hopes up about it, but given their hinting so far in the first ep, it's probably a 3-ep-rule sort of show to see if it makes something of itself or not.

Post apolitical design with steam punk-ish feel, and struggle of humankind vs something
Love the idea and the world design so far, from the dangerous wastelands outside and the rather rundown-ish habitat inside. And that crazy steam punk-ish mecha mobile fortress.

Decent art and animation. Though I could wish for a bit more detail and intricate design especially within the habitat... and maybe a bit more ambient would be nice.

Fights and battles are cool so far along with the mobile fortress.

MC is likeable for me, funny, energetic and aims high. Actually it gave me the vibe of TTGL... weirdly.

Anyways, looks promising with a lot of avenue to build on. Definitely will be watching on for a while

Like soullessgoat said, the first thing the setting made me think of was a mixture of Darling in the FRANXX and Mortal Cities, with the mobile cities and the monsters. Bit of Gargantia too, in how the city felt a lot more 'living' than the other two.

Luckily, the setting similarities seem to be the extent of it, at least for now. Main character is a spunky girl cliche but she functions as a main character and the small, focused cast so far works to the series benefit. The background visuals were gorgeous and the music wasn't bad at all.

Not bad, I'll put it in the 'promising' column for now.

It's better than what I expected, but I can't help but feel that they've messed up on who the MC should be. I think it should have been just the old guy Kaburagi as the MC, and just not have included Natsume the girl MC in it at all. I don't know if it's to appeal to male audiences, who wants to see cute girls in anime or for whatever reason have such a girl lead, but it just would have been cooler to have the story revolve around Kaburagi instead.

I'll hop aboard the mesh up train: it looked like a mix of Attack on Titan and Darling in the Franxx to me, but I did enjoy the first episode. Better than what I was expecting. Let's see how it unfolds.

Really, Deca-Dence, really? "How to drop rating by 2 points with one episode" the anime... For now I'll watch 3rd ep and possibly stick with it for the season because of Natsume, but it lost it's appeal greatly to me

I don't know where this is going, but I do like the boldness. Now it all depends on the execution.

Secd eps are the pits. This second episode is a huge, mammoth sucking sound, as points and people drop.
If you want engagement, NEVER distance the viewer from the character. Making the character an avatar in a game is.... stupid, when you have a choice over telling a story.

Ep 2

Uuurghh yea... I think I understand the outburst here. I too would have preferred the plot to have stayed on its track.
Also that contrasting animation style and character design does kinda broke the immersion

Nonetheless, that was pretty bold - the kinda new plot left me with lots of questions, parts were difficult to follow.

Anyways I still kinda like the inner world and FL character, so will be willing to follow on the bold plot to see how things plays out.

But I will be willing to follow along to see how it plays out.

I will have to agree with you on this one. I guess those overly cartoony characters shown in the first episode(that I personally didn't give much attention to) played a much more significant role in this series...To me this is reason enough to drop the series. Then again it is just 12 episodes,so 10 more to go.
At first the premise seemed like something similar to Attack on Titan (mobile fort with external creatures getting in conflict with the residents) difference being, that there are factions inside the fort that are being introduced like in that shitty episode of what One Piece was to be, you know, the one that came out on the 20th Anniversary of the series where Luffy wanted to be a "pirate-main" or some other "awkward sounding made up" term. At least, that is what it reminded me of. I doubt anyone else made such a connection between these two, very different shows.

I guess it makes sense to just change the environment to an actual video game as it saves up time trying to explain to the viewers how things work(like the equipment,Gears utilize in battle). Taking shortcuts to exposition will never seem appealing to me, it almost adds insult to injury(as in we are too stupid,or the author is too lazy/uninspired to go into the trouble of explaining how things work in this world of his). They just throw in "It's just a video game! So anything goes!" and expect you to roll with it.

Confusing, yes. But it looks like it's a little more complicated than "character is an avatar in a game".

It seems more like he is some sort of AI as part of a larger management/resource gathering system for the planet, and they use humans to maintain their systems while having the AIs use cyborg bodies to gather resources they need to keep working from those giant bugs. Sort of a weird inverse Matrix.

I don't really get it yet, and I don't think you are meant to from the information they've shown, but it feels a little early to just write it off entirely. I'm not sure whether I actually like it at this point, but it's definitely different, and god knows, the anime industry needs all the creativity it can get.
