TV Series, 2002-2003, 45 eps
This anime has possibly the best storytelling I have ever seen in anime. Set in an alternate universe, the detail in which the norms and ways of this world are explained, aswell as the character development, are astounding. You get sucked into it, live with and grow to understand the characters, and eagerly await the next action they are going to take. It's a shame they didn't animate all 11 novels, but this is definitely a must see for any anime fan, though it's often overlooked.

This is the only anime I've watched so far that truly has literally no faults. I can't recall a single moment I would have liked to see happen differently. You get drawn into this anime from the very first minute of the first episode. You start living with the characters, who have been designed perfectly. You can relate to all of their actions, they're all extremely lovable and you may even recall some of your own memories. It's just that it's so short. I ran through the entire anime and when it ended I felt like I just watched one or two episodes. This is definitely a must see, recommended to fans of any genre and especially to people who are just starting to get into anime.

The greatest anime ever made. This is pure mind fuckery in a usually childish genre where cruel things happen, with an incredibly misleading cover. What Evangelion did for the mecha genre is what this anime will do for the magical girl genre, and possibly even beyond that. You'll watch this entire series in awe, as you haven't ever seen something as great as this.

This anime belongs without doubt between the best anime ever created. I couldn't spot any flaws anywhere. The animation is spectacular and the entire cast are amazing. A truly unique cyberpunk story executed in a magnificent manner.

What this anime excels at is the cast. There is not a single unlikable character and everyone serves his/her own purpose in an outstanding way. This and the great animation and storyline make this one of the best anime I have ever seen.
