TV Series, 2017, 12 eps
This was an unexpected treat. It offers nice little doses of adventure, exploration, drama, comedy and character development, while softly pondering on the human condition. Unusually for me, I got the urge to seek the manga in order to see the end of the girls' story.
Recommended for anyone who's not exclusively into flashy battles and rapid action.

What a lovely journey that anime was. Beautiful story, characters and sentiments. I discovered it "only" 44 years after its release, but I'm glad I did.

Movie, 1984, 1 ep
I fear that anything I say about Nausicaa would be an understatement: captivating characters and story, beautiful themes and a plot with remarkable cohesion - not a characteristic of all Miyazaki's movies.
Nothing is presented purely for its (albeit stunning) visual impression, but has a genuine function within the movie - again not always found in Miyazaki's works. Almost everything is governed by cause and effect, to a truly wonderful result.
A touching, timeless anime masterpiece, in my opinion.

Slice of life is I think an underappreciated genre. Personally, there are many times when I prefer one such good anime, instead of watching endless battles, skirmishes and superpowers.
Non Non Biyori is one of those Slice of Life anime, that can sooth you or make you smile, laugh and even tear up without anyone breaking up or dying. Naturally, not all episodes can keep the same level of interest. However sometimes it may surprise you with some profound themes it subtly brings up, and the sweet way it unfolds them. One of the best in this genre. And of course it has Renge. Nyanpasu!
