An Apify actor that extracts video metadata from CNBC.
What it does
- Fetches the given CNBC video listing page (default:
https://www.cnbc.com/video/) - Extracts the internal section ID from the page's
__NEXT_DATA__JSON blob - Calls CNBC's internal GraphQL API (Apollo Persisted Queries) to retrieve paginated video metadata β no browser needed, fast and lightweight
- Falls back to scraping individual video HTML pages (JSON-LD / Open Graph) if the GraphQL API is unavailable
Output fields
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
title | Video title |
description | Video description / summary |
videoLocation | Direct video playback URL |
videoDuration | ISO 8601 duration (e.g. PT2M26S) |
videoPublishDate | ISO 8601 publish date |
videoThumbnail | Thumbnail image URL |
sourceUrl | CNBC page URL for the video |
id | CNBC internal asset ID |
Input
| Field | Type | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
startUrl | string | https://www.cnbc.com/video/ | CNBC video listing URL |
maxVideos | integer | 50 | Max videos to scrape (0 = unlimited) |
pageSize | integer | 10 | Videos per GraphQL page request |
Notes
- The GraphQL endpoint uses Apollo Persisted Queries β the query hash is hardcoded from browser DevTools observation. If CNBC rotates the hash, the actor falls back to HTML scraping automatically.
- Respects
maxVideosacross both strategies.
