Scrape supplier / manufacturer listings from HKTDC Sourcing (sourcing.hktdc.com) by keyword.
HKTDC's supplier search is a React single-page app โ the company cards are rendered client-side after the page's bootstrap API calls resolve, so a plain HTTP request returns an empty shell. This actor drives a real Chromium browser (via Playwright), waits for the cards to render, and parses them into clean, structured records.

Proxy requirement
A residential proxy in Hong Kong is required. HKTDC blocks datacenter and cloud IPs (AWS, GCP, Azure, and Apify's shared datacenter pool) with a bare
403 Forbiddenbefore the page even loads. Without a residential HK proxy every page returns 403 and the actor produces no results.
Use the default proxyConfiguration in the input (Apify Residential proxy,
country HK). Residential proxy is a paid Apify feature โ it is not
available on the free plan. To enable it, go to
console.apify.com โ Proxy and activate Residential access.
Running without a proxy (or with a datacenter proxy) will not raise an error โ
the actor will log 403 Forbidden for each page and finish with 0 results.
Running locally
Notes
- The scraper walks result pages until
maxItemsPerTermis reached or two consecutive pages return nothing new (HKTDC re-serves the last page once results run out, so the actor stops instead of looping forever). - HKTDC geo-localizes results; a Hong Kong exit node returns more relevant Hong Kong and mainland China suppliers than a US or EU proxy would.
