Search USAspending.gov for federal government spending data -- contracts, grants, loans, and other awards. Find who received federal money, how much, from which agency, and for what purpose.

No API key required. All data is public.

All data comes from the USAspending.gov API, maintained by the U.S. Department of the Treasury. Updated daily. Covers fiscal year 2001 to present.

Is an API key required? No. The USAspending.gov API is fully public with no authentication.

What award types are available? Contracts (A, B, C, D), IDVs (indefinite delivery vehicles), grants, direct payments, loans, insurance, and other financial assistance.

How far back does the data go? USAspending covers fiscal year 2001 to the present, with daily updates.

Can I search by NAICS code? Yes. Use the naicsCodes field to filter by industry classification (e.g., "541511" for custom programming, "236220" for commercial construction).

What is a UEI? Unique Entity Identifier -- the standard identifier for entities doing business with the federal government. Replaced DUNS numbers in 2022.

Can I filter by state? Yes. Use two-letter state codes (e.g., "CA", "VA", "TX") in the states parameter to filter by place of performance.

How do I find spending by a specific company? Use the recipients parameter with the company name (e.g., "Lockheed Martin", "Amazon Web Services") or their UEI number.
