Podfic of Near Kinsman, by englishable.
Rey has her own personal reasons for answering that anonymous bachelor's advertisement in the heart-and-hand mail-order bride catalog, but the respectable Mr. Brigadier General Benjamin Solo needn't find out such trifling details.
(The big fat pack of lies Rey has to tell him about herself is besides the point. Anything is better than being a nobody.)
Or, the 19th-century American Western mail-order bride AU nobody asked me for, but thank you for reading anyway.

“I know, son. I know. But if you feel what your soulmate feels, it is likely that she feels what you feel.” He raised his eyebrows. “Do you understand? If you are happy, she will be happy, too. Do you think you can be happy for her?”
He nodded. “Yes.” He would think happy thoughts every possible moment if he must.
AU. Gilbert is one of those rare, lucky souls who has a soulmate.

“I used to sleep there,” Harry snaps.
He’s breathing hard. He feels like he’s run a marathon, even though he’s just sitting there uselessly, staring at a perfectly ordinary cupboard.
“What?” Sirius says.

If Bush had ever thought about it, he would have expected his men to come to him for advice on seamanship. It never occurred to him that they might come to him for his learning.

Air feeds fire, but nobody in the Fire Nation talks about that. Ty Lee heard it somewhere, though.
But that was a long time ago.
Ever since she’d been small, Hermione’s reward for good marks had been a rampage through a bookshop, so the day she tore open her O.W.L.s results and triumphantly brandished the eleven Outstandings, her beaming mother said, “We’ll go to Foyles tomorrow,” without any discussion required.

Okay, she thinks, in a zen-like state of calm: given a chump assignment, she not only managed to fall in a well, she somehow dragged Captain America--living legend, supersoldier, level 7 SHIELD consultant, and Avenger--down with her. This means two things:
1) Captain America knows who she is now, and thinks she’s a dumbass, and
2) SHIELD is probably going to make her disappear as punishment (likely by throwing her in another, deeper well and pretending she never existed).“Don’t mind me,” she says faintly. “I’m just gonna drown myself now.”

Kara is at the end of her nursing shift when a violent man is brought in with an arrow wound. When he spits blood on her, Kara is transported elsewhere. Soon she's doing emergency wound care on book characters and trying not to lose it. She can't watch people suffer even if it isn't real, but Aragorn is very suspicious of a woman who tells no clear story and smells like an orc.
“Stranger things have happened than you or I have years to tell of it," Gandalf said. "Why does she unsettle you? Surely you do not feel threatened. I am tolerably certain you could defeat her if it came to violence.”
Aragorn scoffed at his gentle humor. “I’m glad to amuse you. There are more dangers than warriors and swords. Need I tell a wizard that?"
“I can assure you she is not evil and has not a whisper of magic.”
“Yet a beautiful woman appears directly in our path, leagues from civilization, and immediately gains the hobbits’ trust. No wizardry, you say?”
Kara was not *unhappy* at being called a beautiful woman (although his standards for human women, as opposed to elves, were probably low), but she was unhappy to be stuck eavesdropping. She’d seen this scene too many times in movies. They would definitely see her.

Ahsoka Tano told Din to bring Grogu to the Seeing Stone on Tython, and Grogu would be able to call out to other Jedi. Ahsoka Tano did not say that other Jedi might call out to him or that the pillar of blue light was actually a type of planetary transportation.
Din ends up on a planet he's never heard of with nothing but his armor and his child. A lot has changed but his mandate hasn't. He must reunite Grogu with one of his kind. But first, he has to help these ade win a civil war against the dar'buir who abandoned them.
AKA Din goes back in time and doesn't realize it. He meets some other Mandalorians, gains another child, and then goes to Tatooine, because it's familiar enough to be called home.
