Description

When we want to include troubleshooting information from about:support in an existing question, the Share Data button on the Edit page is not functional.

This issue seems to exist in both staging and the release version.

It seems that the problem is not limited to the Share Data button. When I try to upload an image from the Edit page, the image was not appear on the question page although the process indicates that it's successfully uploaded.

Summary: Share Data button is not functional in edit page → Edit question page is not functional except to edit the text

When we want to include troubleshooting information from about:support in an existing question, the Share Data button on the Edit page is not functional.

Is this your own question, or someone else's? Or are you instructing a user to click edit, then click Share Data? Are you pasting in some about:support json that a user has shared in a reply so it'll get parsed by the backend?

I'm interested in the use case here because it'll determine how we fix this. It doesn't make sense to show a Share Data button which fetches the about:support data from your browser if you're editing someone else's question, for instance.

It's my own since I was testing by posting a new question.

Now that you mentioned it, I tested it on somebody else's question and get the same result, since I believe they share the same edit URL. I think that'll be something to decide whether you want to restrict the Share Data function only to the question owner since as far as I know, it's only possible to edit someone else's question if a user have admin/moderator permission.

Kiki, Since editing a support question to add Troubleshooting Information (Share Data) doesn't work:
