The autofocus attribute has been enabled by default for about 14 years (bug 546995). Do we need to be able to turn it off?

Emilio, do you have any concerns about removing this pref? It's been around for a while so I'm wondering if it's persisted so long because it's important for accessibility use cases, or something else.

I think it's fine to remove, the pref comes from bug 546995 and no explicit a11y concern or what not was stated there. Olli, any concern?

I don't have concerns

This is definitely used (as almost everything, of course) by some users. e.g. https://github.com/tridactyl/tridactyl suggests using it.
