Steps to reproduce:


Set browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.improvesearch.handoffToAwesomebar to false in about:config. Go to about:home or about:newtab and type some text into the input field of these pages.


Actual results:


The cursor jumps to the awesome bar.


Expected results:

I tested this on Windows 11 and Xubuntu 25.10.
