Questionable removals

Recently I've found myself reverting several of your edits to the file pages for my photos, most recently at File:Washington State Capitol - Winged Victory and Capitol dome 01.jpg. Can you explain what you had in mind here? - Jmabel ! talk 18:01, 10 August 2025 (UTC)

I understood the image did not qualify to be categorized as such because the dome was not the primary subject of the photo, which admittingly may additional understanding on how to apply more carefully. My apologies and please point me at any relevant guidelines to improve. OceanLoop (talk) 18:32, 10 August 2025 (UTC)
Categories don't just cover primary subject. Given especially that we have tools that can intersect categories, it is likely that someone might use one of those tools to find photos that have two different things both in them.
We don't usually add trivial inclusions—e.g. we wouldn't add Category:Trees in Washington (state) to that image—but the presence of the dome is definitely a significant compositional element of that photo, even if it is not the main subject (or even perfectly in focus). - Jmabel ! talk 19:56, 10 August 2025 (UTC)

Also, similarly and even more problematically, the removal of the category for the door knockers at File:Washington State Capitol Legislative Building main doors 02.jpg. - Jmabel ! talk 18:08, 10 August 2025 (UTC)

I see, you put it on the parent category. Poor choice: you can readily have pictures of the door (e.g. of a particular relief) that don't show a door knocker. I'll do the rework on that. - Jmabel ! talk 18:11, 10 August 2025 (UTC)
This was my first attempt at creating a new sub-category, so please excuse the mistakes. I see what you mean now. Thank you for working on the fix, and please do review the remaining Capitol categories. OceanLoop (talk) 18:34, 10 August 2025 (UTC)

USGS airport image help

I liked your satellite image of Seattle-Tacoma airport and wanted to make a similar one for Memphis International Airport. I figured out how to use the USGS website and found the correct files: [1] [2]. Did you download the full 400MB ZIP files and then edit those? What software did you use? Thanks, ElToAn123 (talk) 00:08, 26 May 2026 (UTC)
