Les Alpes sont l'un des grands systèmes de chaînes de montagnes d'Europe s'étendant sur environ 1 200 kilomètres dans huit pays alpins d'Autriche et de Slovénie à l'est, en France, en Suisse, au Liechtenstein et en Allemagne du sud-est, à l'ouest.
