Durante degli Alighieri, simplement appelé Dante, était un grand poète italien du moyen âge. Sa Divine Comédie, à l'origine appelée Comédie et plus tard appelée Divina par Boccaccio, est largement considérée comme la plus grande œuvre littéraire composée en langue italienne et un chef-d'œuvre de la littérature mondiale. En Italie, il s'appelle il Sommo Poeta et il Poeta. Lui, Pétrarque et Boccaccio sont aussi appelés «les trois fontaines» et «les trois couronnes». Dante s'appelle aussi «le père de la langue italienne». Durante degli Alighieri, simply called Dante, was a major Italian poet of the Middle Ages. His Divine Comedy, originally called Comedìa and later called Divina by Boccaccio, is widely considered the greatest literary work composed in the Italian language and a masterpiece of world literature. In Italy he is called il Sommo Poeta and il Poeta. He, Petrarch, and Boccaccio are also called "the three fountains" and "the three crowns". Dante is also called "the Father of the Italian language".
