Une fracture numérique est une inégalité économique et sociale selon les catégories de personnes dans une population donnée dans leur accès, leur utilisation ou leur connaissance des technologies de l'information et de la communication. Le fossé au sein des pays peut se référer aux inégalités entre les individus, les ménages, les entreprises ou les zones géographiques, généralement à différents niveaux socioéconomiques ou d'autres catégories démographiques. Le fossé entre les différents pays ou régions du monde est appelé la fracture numérique mondiale, en examinant cet écart technologique entre les pays en développement et les pays développés à l'échelle internationale. A digital divide is an economic and social inequality according to categories of persons in a given population in their access to, use of, or knowledge of information and communication technologies. The divide within countries may refer to inequalities between individuals, households, businesses, or geographic areas, usually at different socioeconomic levels or other demographic categories. The divide between differing countries or regions of the world is referred to as the global digital divide, examining this technological gap between developing and developed countries on an international scale.
