Jonah ou Jonas est le nom donné dans la Bible hébraïque à un prophète du royaume du nord d'Israël vers le VIIIe siècle av. Il est le personnage central éponyme du Livre de Jonas, célèbre pour être avalé par un poisson ou une baleine, selon la traduction. L'histoire biblique de Jonas est répétée, avec quelques différences notables, dans le Coran. Jonah or Jonas is the name given in the Hebrew Bible to a prophet of the northern kingdom of Israel in about the 8th century BC. He is the eponymous central character in the Book of Jonah, famous for being swallowed by a fish or a whale, depending on translation. The Biblical story of Jonah is repeated, with a few notable differences, in the Qur'an.
