Le socialisme est un système social et économique caractérisé par la propriété sociale des moyens de production et la gestion coopérative de l'économie [1] [2], ainsi que d'une théorie et d'un mouvement politiques qui visent à établir un tel système. [ 3] [4] La «propriété sociale» peut se référer aux entreprises coopératives, à la propriété commune, à la propriété de l'État, à la propriété citoyenne de l'équité ou à une combinaison de celles-ci [5]. Il existe de nombreuses variétés de socialisme et il n'y a pas de définition unique qui les encapsule. [6] Ils diffèrent selon le type de propriété sociale qu'ils défendent, le degré auquel ils s'appuient sur les marchés ou la planification, la gestion à organiser dans les institutions productives et le rôle de l'État dans la construction du socialisme [7]. Un système économique socialiste repose sur le précepte organisationnel de la production pour l'utilisation, c'est-à-dire la production de biens et de services pour satisfaire directement la demande économique et les besoins humains où les objets sont valorisés en fonction de leur utilité-valeur ou utilité, par opposition à être structuré sur Accumulation de capital et production à but lucratif.
