Șerb
Le serpent est le nom sous lequel le seigneur féodal dépendant des paysans était connu en Transylvanie entre le seizième et le dix-huitième siècle. Les serpents étaient différents des esclaves en ce que ceux-ci pouvaient être achetés et vendus sans aucun lien avec le terrain, tandis que les serpents ne changeaient leurs maîtres que lorsque la terre dans laquelle ils travaillaient était en possession d'un autre. Șerb este numele sub care era cunoscut țăranul dependent de stăpânul feudal în Transilvania, între secolele XVI și XVIII. Șerbii se deosebeau de sclavi prin faptul că cei din urmă puteau fi cumpărați și vânduți, fără să existe vreo legătură cu bucata de pământ, în timp ce șerbii își schimbau stăpânii doar când pământul pe care îl lucrau intra în stăpânirea altcuiva.
