A picture tells a thousand words. Need to find free Public Domain or Creative Commons images? These are the places I search most:

• USA Search and DefenseImagery, US image repositories, usually under the license of {{PD-USGov}} or {{PD-USGov-Military}}
• Picture Australia - repository of many Australian image sites under various free or non-free licenses, depending on the source. Images older than 50 years are usually free under the license of {{PD-Australia}}
• Flickr.com Advanced Photo Search (tick the bottom three creative commons boxes when searching) (flickr users are often willing to change licenses (see here) if you message them) usually under the license of {{cc-by-2.0}} or {{cc-by-sa-2.0}}
