Speedy deletion nomination of Huatu

[edit]
πŸ‘ Image

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Huatu requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G14 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is:

  • a disambiguation page with a title ending in "(disambiguation)" which lists only one extant Wikipedia page (i.e., there is a primary topic);
  • a disambiguation page that lists zero extant Wikipedia pages, regardless of its title; or
  • a redirect with a title ending in "(disambiguation)" whose target is neither a disambiguation page nor page that has a disambiguation-like function.

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such pages may be deleted at any time. Please see the disambiguation page guidelines for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and removing the speedy deletion tag. Dan arndt (talk) 08:52, 13 February 2026 (UTC)[]

πŸ‘ Notice

The article Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No evidence presented of significant coverage in independent sources necessary to meet relevant Wikipedia notability guidelines, and a Google search finds nothing obvious either.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion based on established criteria.

If the proposed deletion has already been carried out, you may request undeletion of the article at any time. AndyTheGrump (talk) 12:23, 23 February 2026 (UTC)[]

WP:SNOW?

[edit]

How is WP:SNOW essay relevant to a PROD for an article which cites no independent sources? You are of course entitled to remove the prod, but when doing so, it has to be preferable to give something more relevant as a justification. I'll probably leave it for a few days, but if I don't see such sourcing, I'm going to take the article to AfD. AndyTheGrump (talk) 21:52, 23 February 2026 (UTC)[]

Or you could look for the sources yourself. INFORMS is the largest U.S.society of operations research professionals. It has 15,000 members. I agree that the article is crappy, and needs better sourcing, but do you really think removing it is the best way to improve the encyclopedia?
If you don't like WP:SNOW here, how about WP:SOFIXIT? β€”Mark Dominus () 03:59, 24 February 2026 (UTC)[]
I am proposing to fix it. By nominating for deletion an article that appears, via a search, not to meet Wikipedia notability criteria. AndyTheGrump (talk) 04:46, 24 February 2026 (UTC)[]
Articles don't meet notability criteria, subjects do. If you think Wikipedia is better off with no article about INFORMS, and this is a good use of your time, I won't stand in your way. Best of luck to you ! β€”Mark Dominus () 14:50, 24 February 2026 (UTC)[]
