WikiProject Atheism aims primarily to organize, neutrally develop, and improve the series of articles on atheism in accordance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. This page and its sub-pages contain their suggestions; it is hoped that this project will help to focus the efforts of other Wikipedians. We will strive to improve all Atheism-related articles to Featured Article status, while still retaining a neutral point of view. We will also help prevent religion-based censorship throughout Wikipedia. All editors are welcome to participate, regardless of one's beliefs or disbeliefs. You do not have to identify as an atheist to participate in this WikiProject.

• Find and cite reputable sources for all atheism-related articles.
• Organize and expand the to-do list, perhaps with ideas from Wikipedia:Maintenance.

• Improve List of atheists to Featured List quality by adding citations and concise and relevant details to each entry.

Similar to the Collaboration of the week, but on a smaller scale, you might want to "adopt" an article. This would involve doing the research, writing, and picture-taking (if possible) for either a non-existent article or a stub. Of course, everyone else can still edit an adopted article, and you can work on other things too, but the idea is to find a focus for a while, to try and build up the number of quality articles the Project has produced.

This project welcomes all editors wanting to improve Wikipedia's coverage of atheism-related topics. In particular, this project welcomes both atheists and non-atheists. Because Wikipedia is an encyclopedia rather than a discussion forum, discussions of personal thoughts and beliefs should be avoided.

A wide variety of other userboxes, about religious beliefs and disbeliefs, can be found at User:UBX/Userboxes/Religion. This WikiProject does not officially adopt any of these.

NOTE: Stubs are managed by the Stub-sorting WikiProject. Before creating a new stub, you should propose it at Wikipedia:WikiProject Stub sorting/Proposals. See Wikipedia:Stub for general guidelines on proposing stub templates and categories. DO NOT simply create new stub templates, as these will be deleted.
