Cyperus papyrus (Indian Matting Plant) is a species of perennial herb in the family sedges. They are associated with freshwater habitat. They are native to Pantanal, GoiáS, Bahia, SãO Paulo, Minas Gerais, Pampa, Rio Grande Do Sul, Alagoas, Espirito Santo, Cerrado, Sergipe, ParaíBa, Rio De Janeiro, Distrito Federal, Pernambuco, and Mata Atlântica.
