Centaurea melitensis (Maltese Star Thistle) is a species of annual herb in the family Asteraceae. They are native to The Contiguous United States, Morocco, Western North America, Spain, Italy, Yugoslavia, France, Libya, Algeria, Portugal, Greece, and Tunisia. They have achenes. Flowers are visited by Propertius Duskywing, Vanessa cardui, Northern White Skipper, and Checkered White.
