Daryl McCormack is an Irish and American actor. His roles include the films A Good Woman Is Hard to Find, Pixie, Good Luck to You, Leo Grande; The Lesson (2023), Twisters, Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery, and Anniversary (2025); and the shows Fair City, Peaky Blinders, I Am…, The Wheel of Time, Bad Sisters, and The Woman in the Wall. He is a dual citizen of Ireland and the U.S.

He was born and raised in Nenagh, County Tipperary, Ireland. His father, Alfred Thomas, is American, from Baltimore. His mother, Theresa McCormack, is Irish. A photo of Daryl’s mother can be seen here. His parents met in California in 1992. His mother returned to Ireland, where she raised him.

Daryl’s paternal grandfather was Percy Thomas (Percy Winfield Thomas, Jr., the son of Percy Winfield/Wingfield Thomas and Lillian Taylor). Daryl’s grandfather Percy was born in Virginia, as were most of his recent relatives. He is an actor and theatre director. Daryl’s great-grandfather Percy was the son of The Rev. Percy Arthur Thomas and Nannie Jones. Lillian was the daughter of Arthur Garfield Taylor and Adelle Jackson.

Daryl’s paternal grandmother was Beatrice Denefield (the daughter of Alfred Denefield and Beatrice Richardson). Daryl’s grandmother Beatrice was born in North Carolina. Alfred was born in Florida, the son of Thomas Denefield and Bertha Crooms. Daryl’s great-grandmother Beatrice was born in South Carolina.

Daryl’s maternal grandfather was named Edward McCormack.
