satishweb/rhel6.2 repository overview

This base Image was created to help those who still rely on rhel6.2 version and wants to upgrade to docker infrastructure. It is highly recommended that you use latest version of RHEL.

RHEL Base OS 6.2 before license configuration. You must install and use the license to connect to RHN.

To install packages offline, Follow below steps:

1. Goto https://access.redhat.com/downloads⁠
2. Click on Redhat Enterprise Linux in the list
3. Signin with your RHN ID (free signup available, do it in different window and then login)
4. After signin page you will be directed to download page, select 6.2 version and Arch x86_64
5. Download Binary DVD with 3.34GB size.
6. Mount iso at /mnt/rheliso
7. Pull this image, run with command: docker run -it --name rhel62 -v /mnt/rheliso/:/mnt/rhel62/ satishweb/rhel6.2 /bin/bash
8. yum config is already set to install packages from /mnt/rhel62 path inside container, you can fire yum install command to install packages from iso file. (You need license to connect to RHN network to install latest updates or do upgrades).
