Hidden Stories: How a bored Railway employee gave Pune its first cinema

Established in 1915 by Gangadhar Narhar, aka Bapusaheb Pathak, Aryan Talkies was the first of its kind in Pune. Once a hub for silent films and later the talkies, Aryan Talkies remained a landmark until its closure in 1982. Although the hall is no longer operational, its influence on Puneโs cultural scene lives on through books, documentaries, and cherished memories.
