Gujarat Titans and Lucknow Super Giants are the youngest franchises in the Indian Premier League with just three years of experience in the showpiece event. However, GT in their short tenure won a trophy in their inaugural season in 2022 and reached the final of 2023. Though 2024 has not gone to plan they still have some quality players to build around.

Last season GT lost their talismanic captain Hardik Pandya to the Mumbai Indians post the IPL auction and Shubman Gill was named the leader of the side. Gill had a bittersweet season with the bat during IPL 2024, scoring 426 runs with one ton and they finished eight in the table. However, one positive for GT was Sudharsan’s form and his ability to churn out runs. Last season they also suffered a big blow after their leading wicket-taker Mohammed Shami from the 2023 season was ruled out due to injury hence the side struggled with Spearhead. Rashid Khan too had an average season by his standards and would be looking to take Shami’s role as strike bowler in the IPL 2025 season.
